O.V. Wright - That's How Strong My Love Is

by Opal Louis Nations, Roots & Rhythm Newsletter
In 1976, after 15 years with Don Robey's Back Beat label, Memphis soul doctor O.v. Wright signed with Hi Records under the close supervision of Willie Mitchell. Supported vocally by Rhodes Chambers and The Rhodes Singers and supercharged by The Memphis Strings and Horns, Wright cut a songbook of memorable ballads and funky tunes. Indelible gospel-tinged moments include the intro to "Into Something (I Can't Shake Loose)," "I Feel Love Growing," "Precious, Precious," his tear-jerking medley of "God Bless Our Love/When a Man Loves a Woman/That's How Strong My Love Is," a tribute to singers past and gone entitled "A Little More Time," and more....This is essential O.v. Wright. ~ Opal Louis Nations, Roots & Rhythm Newsletter, All Music Guide
