RCMP Get a big High Five From Me !
Heres what happened .....
People living in Shamattawa, Manitoba are seeing a positive difference in their community thanks to local RCMP officers going beyond their duty to improve the way of life up north.
Members of the local RCMP detachment have created a skating rink (above) and clear it off after a snowfall. Members are in the process of collecting donated skates, helmets, pucks and hockey sticks from RCMP employees and other partners to distribute in the community.
The creation of a recreational space on ice for youth hasn't stopped there. Detachment members also hold weekly barbeques for the children.
"The interaction between police and youth through these activities is inspiring and demonstrates that collectively the efforts of a few compassionate citizens can make a profound difference within a community," said Inspector Tyler Bates, Officer in Charge of the RCMP Community and Aboriginal Policing Services.
