Passion

The more seasoned I become, the more I find myself admiring plants and flowers. And just to be clear, I am only in my 29th season!!! Ha ha ha  It must be instinct to continue nurturing as my boys grow older and need less of "Mom". Let's face it....plants don't roll their eyes and cringe when you talk to them. J

I was so excited when my own "Mom" brought us a "Passion Vine" for our deck. I fell in love with this unusual and beautiful flower after seeing it thrive in her backyard last year. I watered and pampered this plant for weeks. Finally! A bloom! Good thing I took a picture of it or nine! Lol.

Within a couple of days...it was gone!! No trace! And it did not go alone....a few buds tagged along!!

I immediately suspected my 9 year old son, Liam. I had my reasons. For one thing, he cannot walk by a plant or flower without touching them!!! Same with the walls, the furniture...anything of value!! Ha ha ha. It was not him.

I next suspected the neighborhood rabbit!!! Last year he ate each and everyone of my Impatiens! I was in full CSI mode when I was informed that my teenager may have been the culprit! Well, not him....'cause he's an angel, but perhaps a classmate?! Somebody has to take the fall!!! Turns out that my son had a gaggle of friends on the deck that sunny afternoon. I did not push the issue any longer....I was so relieved that I was not going head to head with the rabbit!!!

It does my heart good to think that one of those boys took that bloom (because let's face it ...it IS very cool),  and maybe gave it to a crush at school. At least then I know that the "Passion" lives on :)
